Hi. I’m Bintou, PMHNP-BC.
Raised by a hardworking single mother, I developed an early understanding of the emotional weight many women quietly carry while continuing to show up for everyone around them. That perspective continues to shape the way I approach care today — with warmth, compassion, and a deep respect for the complexity of each person’s lived experience.
With a background in critical care nursing and experience across high-acuity psychiatric settings, I bring both clinical depth and a calm, grounded presence to treatment. My approach is collaborative, emotionally attuned, and deeply individualized, creating space for patients to feel genuinely heard and understood beyond their symptoms alone.
I believe mental healthcare should feel thoughtful, intentional, and human. Through comprehensive evaluations and careful medication management, treatment is tailored to help patients regain clarity, emotional balance, confidence, and a stronger connection to themselves.
For many women, healing begins with finally allowing themselves to be supported with the same care.
Why women, specifically
Why Gender-Specific Mental Health Treatment?
Women are nearly twice as likely as men to experience anxiety and depressive disorders, and research consistently shows that hormonal transitions, reproductive experiences, caregiving responsibilities, trauma exposure, and societal pressures can significantly influence women's mental health across the lifespan. Despite this, many women report feeling dismissed, misunderstood, or reduced to symptoms alone within healthcare settings.
I chose to focus on women's outpatient mental health because I believe women benefit from care that considers the full context of their lives — including emotional, hormonal, relational, and lifestyle factors that often shape mental well-being in complex ways. Many women are balancing multiple roles and responsibilities while quietly struggling with overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, or major life transitions behind the scenes.

My goal is to create a space where women feel understood without needing to overexplain themselves. By providing thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care, I aim to help women gain clarity, feel more emotionally supported, and build a healthier, more sustainable sense of balance in their everyday lives.
